Senior Design 2016-17

My name is Sean Saito and I am a Senior studying Mechanical Engineering. I am from Honolulu, HI and I enjoy playing basketball, working out, and playing Pokemon Go. I am interested in biomedical engineering and research, however, my ultimate career goal is to become a practicing orthopedic surgeon. My ultimate goal is to help improve the health care field whether it is as a researcher, biomedical engineer, or a practicing physician.

Chad Nakaoka, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i, recalls his fascination math and science from a young age. His interest in altruism and innovation were factors in his pursuit of an engineering degree. Chad is currently a bachelors degree candidate in mechanical engineering at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Some of Chad's topics of interest include: gait analysis, materials science and any sports related engineering.

Dayne Sasaki was born in Pasadena, CA. He is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. His interests include thermodynamics, materials science and engineering, nanotechnology, and surface science.

I am currently a senior in Mechanical Engineering. I am very interested in thermodynamics and hope to find a job in that field. After graduating in May 2017, I want to work while pursing my MS in Engineering Management or my MBA.

Matthew Barrett-Wright was born and raised in Honolulu, HI. He is very proficient in AutoCad and has about 5 years of experience behind him. His strong suits are Math and Science and he enjoys problem solving. Matt’s father passed away from cancer and because of that he understands the seriousness and importance of this project.

I was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada and travelled to Hawaii 3 years ago for my studies. I expect to graduate in the Spring of 2017 with my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I am interested in pursuing a career in biomedical engineering and sports biomechanics. Alongside my studies, I play water polo for the University of Hawaii.

Wei Lun Lian was born and raised in Guangzhou, China until the age of 5 where he later moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. He was interested in biology, however math and other sciences were his stronger fields. It was not until high school when he developed an interest in designing and tinkering. He has a lot of patience towards programming and CAD designing. He is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He enjoys working with his hands
